Department Overview The Department of Surgery is part of the School of Medicine at ECU Brody School of Medicine located in Greenville, North Carolina. The division includes general, bariatric, pediatric, plastic, surgical oncology, transplant, and trauma & acute care surgery. The department provides patient care, medical education, and research.
Job Duties
Provide surgical care for benign and malignant breast conditions, including high‑risk patients.
Manage an active multidisciplinary breast program with over 700 new patients annually.
Collaborate with surgical oncologists, colorectal surgeons, and fellow faculty in teaching and research activities.
Contribute to clinical trials, research projects, and presentation of findings.
Qualifications
MD or DO from an accredited institution, board‑eligible or board‑certified in General Surgery.
Completion of an SSO‑approved Breast Surgical Oncology fellowship or complex surgical oncology fellowship.
Board certification or eligibility in General Surgery and Breast Surgery.
Experience in surgical oncology and breast cancer care.
License & Certification
North Carolina Medical License.
Board‑eligible or board‑certified in General Surgery.
Preferred Experience Passion for education and research, experience in teaching surgical residents and fellows, and prior involvement in multidisciplinary breast cancer programs.
