Position Responsibilities
Perform basic Fire and Building Code analysis.
Support the design of fire sprinklers, fire alarms, and special suppression systems for diverse projects.
Fire protection system layout and development of construction documents.
Perform sprinkler hydraulic calculations.
Perform fire alarm calculations.
Perform site assessments and reports.
Supported the lead fire protection engineer in developing engineering analyses, including smoke control, combustible dust, energy storage systems, hazardous materials, etc.
Construction support activities include responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and performing punch walks.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
3-10 years of experience in fire suppression/fire alarm design.
Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
Proficient in AutoSPRINK or HydraCALC sprinkler calculation software.
Proficient in applying the California Building and Fire Codes, with experience implementing NFPA design standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in health care and/or federal jobs.
Project management and business development experience is a plus.
EIT certification.
US Citizenship preferred.
NICET Fire Sprinkler or Fire Alarm certified.
