Base pay range $50.00/hr - $55.00/hr Job Title- Project Engineer Duration- 06+ Months with Possible extension ONLY W2 Job Description This is what you’ll do: Responsible for day-to-day build activities, including engineering activities and manage build configuration for Electric Power Electronics Conversion products such as inverter, on board charging and DC to DC converter. Manage build huddle and provide daily build status update to all stakeholders of the progress. Advises management on the status of work in progress, material availability, and production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, and materials are available to meet build demand. Review Bill of Materials (BOM) from the development phase and managed through the product life cycle, including identifying make and buy parts and revision control of parts. Evaluates custom build configuration to meet per operational system performance requirements, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces. Collaboration with Design Release Engineers (DREs) to create prototype assembly instructions and build requirements for new product and existing products for each build phase POC, DV, PV, etc.… Train technicians on assembly instructions, operation, and troubleshooting equipment per build process. Capture builds related issues in the JIRA system and resolve issues with DREs and the prototype team using 8D problem-solving techniques. Design an assembly aid fixture for prototype build, including the use of CATIA, create drawings, and assemble of the fixture. Perform a torque-to-failure study to define the required torque value for manufacturing and update the assembly and route sheet. Tracking specific PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) inventory pedigree through build and release, including: Receiving in PCBA’s, record, and assign each board serial number in the build tracker inventory. Create a traveler and move the PCBA to inspection and test. Coordinate with TPM for outsourced conformal coating PCBA. Coordinate with DRE to perform PCBA rework per DCN. This is what you’ll need: Minimum of 5 years of recent relevant hands-on experience Basic knowledge of low and high voltage safety. Basic understanding of ESD and clean room requirements per ISO standards. Familiarity with basic shop fabrication and assembly tools Strong analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure and very tight timelines. Proficient with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Visio. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field. Preferred Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with all company departments and customers. knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures, including manufacturing planning, MRP, KanBan, and Just-in-Time (JIT). Knowledge or experience in product prototype or high-volume production builds and working with technicians/assemblers. Knowledge or experience in creating work instructions, rework process, and developing production intent processes. Knowledge of mechanical drawings and Electrical schematics. Knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5. Proficient with CATIA V6 software, including part design, assembly design, and drafting. Always maintains a positive and proactive attitude. Knowledge of PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly), which includes: Inspection of PCBA per IPC 610 standards Remove and apply conformal coating. Cut trace, solder components, and add jumper wires per DCN. PCBA fabricating process from making the bare board to the board population. Seniority level
