About Us
We're a venture-backed startup building an innovative AI-driven platform called Proxi for policy professionals. Our product helps users navigate complex regulatory, legislative and emerging compliance environments through a voice-driven interface powered by our cutting-edge semantic search pipeline operating over our immense legislative and regulatory data corpus. Our team’s experience spans roles across the White House, State Department, K&S Law, Microsoft and Datadog.
The Role As our founding security engineer, you'll have the unique opportunity to define and build the security architecture for an AI-native platform from the ground up. While we have initial security foundations in place, you'll own the vision, strategy, and implementation of a comprehensive security program that scales with our rapid growth. You'll work directly with the founding team to shape product decisions, establish security culture, and build systems that protect sensitive policy data while enabling breakthrough AI capabilities.
This role offers exceptional equity participation and the autonomy to build your ideal security program.

Strategic Responsibilities
Define the security architecture and roadmap for our AI-native platform
Establish security principles and practices that become core to our engineering culture
Lead security strategy for novel challenges in voice AI, semantic search, and policy data protection
Drive product security decisions at the architecture level
Build and scale the security function, including mentoring future team members
Own relationships with security vendors and select best-in-class tooling
Influence product direction to ensure security‑by‑design principles
Technical Leadership
Design zero‑trust architecture for multi‑tenant AI systems
Implement advanced threat detection for AI‑specific attack vectors
Architect cryptographic solutions for protecting sensitive legislative and regulatory data
Build security automation and DevSecOps pipelines
Establish supply chain security for AI models and data pipelines
Create security frameworks for voice processing and real‑time streaming
Lead incident response and threat hunting initiatives
Core Technical Areas
Modern cloud‑native security (GCP, Cloud Run, containerization)
AI/ML security including prompt injection prevention and model security
Advanced cryptography and key management systems
Identity and access management at scale
API security for high‑throughput AI services
Security observability and detection engineering
Compliance automation for government and enterprise customers
What We’re Looking For
Track record of building security programs at high‑growth startups
Deep expertise in cloud‑native and AI security challenges
Experience with security architecture for voice/audio processing systems
Strong engineering background with ability to build, not just audit
Strategic mindset combined with hands‑on technical excellence
Experience navigating compliance requirements (SOC 2, FedRAMP, etc.)
Ability to balance security with product velocity in a startup environment
Unique Challenges You’ll Tackle
Securing voice‑driven AI interfaces against novel attack vectors
Protecting sensitive policy data while enabling powerful semantic search
