The Impact You Can Have: The Director, Brand Creative plays a key part in shaping and elevating the creative expression of the Ulta Beauty brand. This role works closely with Creative leadership to translate creative strategy into a compelling vision for brand storytelling, delivering breakthrough creative that drives relevance, consistency, and emotional connection.
As a member of the creative leadership team, the Director is accountable for shaping brand narratives, overseeing the creation of integrated marketing campaigns, and leading the execution of creative across social, seasonal, and equity initiatives.
Core Job Responsibilities:
Set and guide the development of the creative campaigns across social, audio, video and print channels, ensuring the direction is on brand, culturally relevant, and strengthens brand equity.
Lead, inspire and develop a multidisciplinary creative team—writers, stylists, designers and video editors—fostering an inclusive, innovative environment that develops talent and empowers collaboration.
Partner with other creative and marketing leaders to evolve and elevate the creative work for Ulta Beauty, translating strategic insights into creative direction.
Develop a social‑first approach while creating creative work that can translate effectively across all channels.
Guide photography asset development for shared campaigns and lead the communication and delivery for use in all channels.
Provide creative direction for Ulta Beauty brand that ensures consistency across markets while adapting to market needs and driving innovation.
Manage strategic partnerships with external partners and ensure timely delivery of feedback and information.
Introduce and support emerging creative tools and methods, including generative AI for ideation and content production, to enhance efficiency, personalization and creative output.

In partnership with the creative leadership, provide clear direction for marketing campaigns, seasonal projects and branding initiatives to drive measurable growth and ensure alignment with brand strategy.
Support the planning, allocation and forecasting of creative resources to ensure efficient operations.
Stay ahead of cultural and creative trends, translating insights into actionable concepts that keep Ulta Beauty at the forefront of the Beauty Industry.
The Essentials for Success:
10+ years of progressive creative leadership experience in brand, agency or in‑house creative environments, with demonstrated success in social and integrated brand campaigns.
5+ years of experience leading high‑performing creative teams in a fast‑paced creative environment.
Strong portfolio showcasing brand equity campaigns, social‑first creative and multi‑channel storytelling.
Deep knowledge of social and cross‑channel creative best practices, with ability to anticipate shifts in consumer behavior and cultural conversation.
Proficiency in creative software and tools—including Adobe Creative Suite, Apple design tools, Figma, Frontify and Miro—and comfort with emerging AI tools for scale and ideation.
Ability to deliver projects on‑budget and use resources effectively.
Exceptional collaboration and influence skills with the ability to partner cross‑functionally with senior leaders and external partners.
The pay range for this position is $150,000.00 - $180,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location and business and organizational needs. Full‑time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part‑time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life and disability benefits.
