Electrical Cx Engineer Responsibilities
Coordinate with general contractors, sub-contractors, vendors, and the owner verbally and in writing
Perform Cx Design reviews including OPR, BOD, Plans and Specifications
Review submittals and shop drawings
Perform periodic Site Observation Visits during construction and preparing Site Observation Reports
Develop project specific test scripts and checklists
Perform Functional Performance Tests and Integrated Systems Tests
Responsible for onsite execution and witnessing of tests
Manage the resolution of Commissioning Issues
Work around live components, three phase AC Power Systems, Direct Current (DC) power systems, and fire alarm systems
Skills
A high-level understanding of engineering knowledge, specifically in the built environment.
Experience in design and/or construction of hyperscale Data Centers
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to respond thoughtfully and effectively to sensitive situations.
Strong analytical skills to be able to analyze relevant information and provide thoughtful solutions.
Experience and detailed knowledge of Medium Voltage (MV) Gear, Generators, Switchgear, UPS Systems, Static Transfer Switches (STS) and Power Distribution Unit (PDU) operation, as well as LOTO requirements.
Knowledge and understanding of equipment and systems Sequences of Operations, development and documentation for functional test scripts.
Equipment startup and commissioning experience; witnessing contractor activation and functional testing of equipment and systems using functional test scripts.
Ability to read construction drawings.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field or 5+ years of equivalent MEP construction, commissioning and project management experience
Professional Engineering License a plus
OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety is required.
OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety is not required but preferred.
Knowledge of Building Automation Systems is a plus
Field experience is preferred.
NFPE-70E is Required
Certification in Building Commissioning is not required but preferred.
Onsite presence is required in Chicago, IL or one of the following cities:
Des Moines, IA
Atlanta, GA
Phoenix, AZ
Reno, AZ
Michigan City, IN
Denver, CO
Sandusky, OH
Columbus, OH
Cedar Rapids, OH
