A leading player in the biopharmaceutical industry is seeking a Head of Global Supply Chain Management to oversee and optimize the end-to-end supply chain for its growing biosimilar portfolio. This newly created leadership role is critical to ensuring seamless global operations, successful product launches, and uninterrupted market supply.
The Opportunity Reporting to senior global leadership, you will define and execute the global supply chain strategy across multiple biosimilar programs. You will work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to ensure operational excellence and strategic alignment across all markets.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Supply Chain Leadership: Develop and implement a global supply chain strategy that guarantees reliable product availability and efficient market launches.
Demand & Supply Alignment: Lead global demand/supply planning, delivering scenario analyses and executive-level transparency to support business decisions.
S&OP / IBP Leadership: Own global Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) cycles over a 36-month horizon.
End-to-End Production Oversight: Coordinate global production across Drug Substance (DS), Drug Product (DP), and Finished Product (FP) stages to maximize capacity and supplier performance.
Inventory & Risk Management: Define inventory strategies, identify risks, and develop mitigation plans to secure continuous product supply.
Launch Readiness: Drive supply chain readiness for new product introductions in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders.
Operational Excellence: Lead digitalization, process optimization, and lean initiatives to enhance visibility and agility.
Strategic Projects: Support technology transfers, new product integrations, and business development initiatives.
Profile & Qualifications
Advanced degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
Extensive experience in supply chain, operations, or manufacturing within the biopharmaceutical or life sciences industry, including moderate experience in a leadership role.
Proven expertise in global S&OP/IBP, external manufacturing, and end-to-end supply chain management.
Strong track record in product launch execution, risk mitigation, and capacity planning.
Advanced proficiency in SAP ERP, SAP IBP, and analytical tools such as Excel and Power BI.
In-depth understanding of GMP, regulatory environments, and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
Demonstrated leadership in team building, cross-functional governance, and stakeholder alignment.
Lean Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt) preferred.
Fluent in English; proficiency in German or other European languages is an advantage.
