Walker Sands is seeking a Brand Strategist to join our growing team. The Brand Strategist supports the development and execution of brand strategy initiatives across a variety of B2B client engagements, reporting to the Director, Brand Strategy within Walker Sands’ Strategy + Insights group. This role blends creative and analytical thinking — uncovering insights through research, shaping brand positioning and messaging, and helping translate strategy into creative expression, go-to-market campaigns and marketing activation. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, articulate, and collaborative, with strong instincts for how brand strategy connects to business goals.
Responsibilities
Brand Strategy + Research:
Support brand research efforts, including qualitative interviews, quantitative surveys, and competitive/market analysis.
Translate research findings into insights that inform brand positioning, audience nuances, messaging frameworks, and more.
Contribute to the development of buyer personas, audience journeys, and audience value propositions.
Brand Development + Messaging:
Partner with the Director, Brand Strategy to define positioning statements, brand personality traits, and messaging hierarchies.
Develop strategic narratives and brand messaging pillars that guide creative development and go-to-market activity.
Ensure messaging aligns to client objectives, target audiences, and broader brand strategy.
Strategic Marketing + Campaign Support:
Support integrated brand and marketing campaigns, collaborating across teams (creative, content, paid, PR, web, and demand gen).
Apply brand and audience insights to support creative briefs, content strategy, and campaign planning.
Contribute to measurement plans and performance reporting to ensure campaigns align with brand strategy and marketing goals.
Collaboration + Internal Enablement:
Collaborate with other members of the Strategy + Insights group to deliver cohesive recommendations.
Support documentation of brand strategy frameworks, tools, and best practices.
Contribute to client presentations, workshops, and internal collaboration sessions.
Experience
3–6 years of experience in brand strategy or related roles; agency and/or B2B experience preferred.
Strong understanding of brand positioning, personas, and messaging strategy.
Experience conducting and synthesizing research to inform strategic recommendations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to clearly articulate complex ideas.
Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
Experience with brand research and marketing tools (e.g., SurveyMonkey) is a plus.
Experience supporting or developing go-to-market strategies is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits Base salary ranges from $71,500 to $81,035 per year. The role is eligible for a performance-based bonus and offers a comprehensive benefits package. Salary placement is determined by qualifications, experience, location, and internal equity.
