Position Overview Obra Real Estate is seeking a

Summer Analyst

for a 10‑week program located full‑time in our Chicago office. This opportunity is designed for rising seniors who are eager to gain hands‑on experience in asset management. The program requires analysts to be in the office 5 days a week and will provide comprehensive exposure to our operations, including underwriting, servicing, and asset management.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate or Mathematics from a top university with an expected graduation date of Winter 2026 or Spring 2027

Top Academic Performance (Minimum 3.75 GPA)

Strong Analytical Skills

Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

Strong time‑management and organizational skills

You have the drive to take on challenges and continually improve processes

You can effectively translate complex subjects for internal management and third parties, such as borrowers, brokers, and outside counsel

You work well with others toward common goals and adapt to changing priorities through planning, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities

You are passionate about growing your skill set and gaining real‑world experience in asset management

You have completed at least one relevant internship in commercial real estate or finance

Responsibilities

You will be involved in the day‑to‑day management of investments, becoming the primary contact for borrower relations, construction draws, loan payoff statements, loan extensions, monthly interest payments, and other asset management matters. You will be the go‑to expert for these activities, ensuring smooth operations.

You will work with timelines and budgets from the underwriting team to monitor the progress of each transaction until repayment.

Collaborate closely with the Portfolio Manager to fulfill reporting requirements for our lenders and investors.

Support asset management professionals in managing a portfolio of real estate assets across the United States for multiple third‑party clients.

Analyze lease proposals using NPV concepts and discounted cash‑flow models.

Prepare property‑level and portfolio‑level cash‑flow projections to evaluate the impact on value, cash flow, and performance as market conditions change (e.g., rental rates, downtime, tenant procurement costs).

This position will be a 10‑week program starting on June 1st. It requires being in‑office 5 days per week. The compensation for this role is $35 per hour.
