Automation Engineer / Senior Automation Engineer
Location: Aurora, IL.
Base Pay Range $75,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr

Responsibilities
Design and develop custom automation systems for fiber optic manufacturing using machine vision, precision motion, and creative mechanical design.
Collaborate with operations and process teams to convert manual assembly into scalable, automated solutions.
Build, test, and optimize automation machines—from CAD and prototyping to troubleshooting on the production floor.
Lead refinement of legacy automation systems using statistical analysis, DOE methodologies, and production feedback.
Work with software, firmware, and data science teams to integrate computer vision and machine learning into real-world production workflows.
Requirements
Prior experience as an Automation Engineer, Controls Engineer, or Senior Automation Engineer
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Motion Controls, or similar
Proven track record designing end-to-end industrial automation systems—from concept to deployment
Proficiency in motion control, including stepper and servo motors, robotics, and collaborative robots.
Knowledge of sensor integration and signal conditioning, including computer vision, RFID sensing, and machine learning algorithms.
Experience in mechanical and hardware design, including Solidworks design and PCBA design and integration.
Commutable to Naperville, IL
