Base pay range $145,000.00/yr - $155,000.00/yr

BRF maintains its headquarters and a manufacturing facility in Macedon, New York; with a Culinary Innovation Center in Westmont, Illinois; and offices and manufacturing facilities in Williamson, New York; Pennsauken, New Jersey; and Corona, California.
This role reports into our Macedon, NY (hybrid reporting) manufacturing plant.
What We Need This role is a forward‑facing leader who is responsible for overseeing project assignments, managing team workload and priorities, and ensuring the successful execution of packaging design, testing initiatives and driving KPIs of function. This role provides strategic direction as it relates to emerging packaging technologies that align with and accelerate growth and cost‑optimizing initiatives. Supports cross‑functional project teams to identify and implement innovative packaging designs and processes. Develop scalable, platform‑able packaging solutions. Leverages strategic partnerships to identify new spaces for exploration.
What You Will Do Team Leadership & Management
Lead and mentor the Packaging Engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Manage project assignments, team workload, and prioritization to ensure timely and high‑quality deliverables.
Provide technical guidance and career development support to team members.
Manage employee performance by clearly defining job responsibilities and standards of performance; tracking progress against goals; providing clear, thorough, timely feedback; and addressing performance problems and issues promptly.
Ensure self and staff keep up to date on technical knowledge and developments that impact roles. Use this information to drive improvements and/or prepare for changing requirements.
Project Execution & Technical Contribution
Manage individual packaging projects from concept through commercialization.
Contribute hands‑on to packaging design, prototyping, testing, and validation.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, sustainability goals, and customer requirements.
Identify strategic packaging technology suppliers to ensure partnerships are developed and supplier innovation activities are aligned with company innovation needs.
Develop, test, review, and recommend proposals for packaging/equipment designs by translating needs of business into work plans, anticipating risks and incorporating mitigation strategies, and developing succinct communications for senior leaders.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to align packaging solutions with business objectives.
Act as a strategic business partner to ensure connectivity with category innovation teams relating to packaging specific initiatives and approach.
Serve as the primary liaison between Packaging Engineering and cross‑functional teams including Innovation, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain.
Technical Escalation Management
Lead resolution of technical packaging issues, ensuring timely and effective problem‑solving.
Develop and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Will Need To Be Successful
Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in Packaging Engineering or Packaging Science or related field.
A minimum of one (1) year of people leadership experience, including hiring, mentoring and developing, and performance management.
A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in consumer packaging design and development experience as well as cost‑optimized packaging within the CPG, pharmaceutical, or cosmetic industries.
