The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all production equipment, facilities, and utility systems to ensure maximum uptime and regulatory compliance within a food manufacturing environment. This role leads a team of maintenance technicians and coordinates with production, quality, and safety teams to maintain efficient, safe, and sanitary operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and schedule maintenance teams to support manufacturing operations.
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for equipment, machinery, and building systems.
Troubleshoot equipment failures and coordinate timely repairs to minimize production downtime.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards (OSHA), food safety regulations (GMPs, HACCP), and company policies.
Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, and Engineering to support equipment upgrades and process improvements.
Manage the maintenance budget, control costs, and procure spare parts, tools, and contracted services.
Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS software (e.g., Maintenance Connection, SAP PM, etc.).
Train and mentor maintenance staff to build technical expertise and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Support capital projects, equipment installations, and commissioning efforts.
Monitor KPIs such as downtime, work order completion rate, and maintenance response times, and report performance to leadership.
Qualifications
5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment. Strong preference on Food/Packaging.
Proven ability to lead maintenance teams and drive performance improvements.
Technical knowledge in electrical systems, mechanical systems, PLCs, refrigeration, HVAC, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
