Finance Manager - Consumer Margin & WebXT

Microsoft’s Commercial Product Infrastructure and Margin (CPIM) team is an exciting and fast‑evolving finance team at the forefront of Microsoft’s AI strategy.
We currently have an opening for an experienced Finance Manager to join the Consumer Margin and WebXT finance team. The WebXT Finance team is responsible for managing Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and gross margin accountability across Bing, MSN, Consumer Co‑pilot, and affiliate business units. The team focuses on determining COGS affordability and ensuring efficient resource allocation and utilization in a rapidly evolving AI landscape. These efforts support the delivery of best‑in‑class offerings to customers while maintaining alignment with gross margin objectives.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain detailed financial reporting for all weekly, monthly and quarterly rhythms.
Deliver high‑quality financial materials for key leadership reviews including Monthly Business Reviews (MBR), close decks, executive memos, and capacity council updates.
Ensure accurate Graphics Processing Unit cost reporting with a strong emphasis on aligning billing practices with established financial principles and telemetry data.
Understand the GPU demand drivers and incoming supply and create weekly updates on signals and supply schedule by working with engineering leaders on Search and Ads.
Manage and validate cross‑charging processes across teams to ensure equitable and transparent cost allocation.
Drive process improvements and scalability by automating reporting templates and enhancing data workflows.
Leverage engineering data to maintain and update product‑level cost allocations across key services, including Bing, MSN, Copilot, and Ads.
Support landing the annual budget/forecasts, seasonality and system loads. Understand the key assumptions driving the budget and seasonality to track over the year.
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, finance, or related field
OR equivalent experience.
2+ years experience developing complex financial models and scenario analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 3+ years of post‑graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 5+ years of post‑graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience
OR equivalent experience.
3+ years of financial analysis experience, preferably in a high‑tech company.
Analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
Demonstrated communication & presentation skills. Can easily present complex financial issues to non‑finance executives.
Able to demonstrate quantitative analysis skills.
Ability to influence and impact without authority, operate in ambiguity, and solve difficult problems, combined with the ability to prioritize and function well in a dynamic and matrixed environment.
Interpersonal and cross group collaboration skills.
Ability to drive simplicity within a complex and matrix environment.
Financial Analysis IC3 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,800 – $151,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, in the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $100,800 – $168,000 per year.
