About the team
As a Velocity Platforms Sales Manager at Stripe, you will play an instrumental role in fueling Stripe’s growth through our existing SaaS platforms users. SaaS platforms embed Stripe’s technology within their offering to differentiate their platforms and accelerate revenue growth. In this role, you will build and lead a team of high-performing Account Executives, helping them to develop their skills and deliver on their ambitious targets, as well as roll your sleeves up to work directly with customers. We are looking for a proactive leader who has demonstrated success dealing with ambiguity, operating in a high-growth environment, managing high-performing teams and solving complicated problems with limited oversight. Ideal candidates will have management and leadership experience scaling a technology sales team and possess first-class analytical, communication and relationship-building skills. What you’ll do
Responsibilities
Drive sales growth through successful leadership, organizational planning, customer service and outstanding execution
Oversee the expansion of Stripe’s footprint with global saas platforms
Make hiring decisions, honing our ideal candidate profile and onboarding strategy
Create structure and focus for GTM ideas and product sales campaigns that the product team is exploring. Drive execution and measurement. Analyze results and make recommendations for action in a timely manner.
Define key sales support mechanisms, processes, and programs to meet the rapid growth of the business and achieve revenue attainment and market development objectives
Build a world-class organization and write the playbook for the era of monetizing payments on platform
Lead a team of Growth Existing Business, Platform AEs focused on expanding our global footprint with enterprise SaaS platforms
Drive deal strategy and partner across the business to ensure healthy pipeline, funnel conversion, win rate, and margin preservation across the portfolio
Effectively work cross-functionally across the organization to shape Stripe's product roadmap and drive best practices on selling and forecasting
Engage with the largest strategic opportunities, leading executive relationships
Who you are
We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement. 8+ years of relevant experience, with 2+ years of people management experience preferred
Experience leading sales in an early stage, high-growth technology environment
Ability to hire, train and coach a high-performance sales team
Ability to build relationships with strategic client and industry thought leaders
Demonstrated passion for start-ups and new technology businesses
Ability to understand and articulate technical concepts, and translate them into industry- or business-relevant terms
Enterprise AEs must be in their current role for a minimum of 24 months.
Product Sales AEs must be in their current role for a minimum of 24 months.
Velocity AEs must be in their current role for a minimum of 18 months.
Preferred qualifications
Thrives in fast-paced settings with a high-level of autonomy and can create clarity and structure
A knack for working well with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally
Experience scoping and managing strategic projects with input from cross-functional teams
Prior experience in financial services, the payments industry, or with the card networks
Office-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in our Bucharest, Romania site have an 80% in-office expectation, and those in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico and Bengaluru, India work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater in-office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility when possible. The annual US base salary range for this role is $239,100 - $358,500. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.
