Job Description
As a Corporate Tax Manager, you will act as a trusted advisor to clients across a variety of industries, providing strategic guidance on business income tax planning, corporate tax compliance, and ASC 740 income tax accounting (including provision preparation and audit support). You'll be responsible for managing client relationships, leading complex tax engagements, and mentoring team members within a collaborative environment that supports your professional growth and success.
Engagement Management & Compliance
Lead and manage multiple corporate tax engagements from planning through completion.
Review complex corporate tax returns and ASC 740 income tax provisions; ensure accuracy and identify tax‑saving opportunities.
Respond to federal, state, and local tax authority inquiries and audits.
Team Leadership & Development
Supervise, train, and mentor senior associates, associates, and interns.
Provide performance feedback and serve in a supervisory or in‑charge capacity.
Client Service & Relationship Management
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their operations, goals, and challenges.
Maintain strong client relationships and deliver high‑quality, strategic tax guidance.
Identify and pursue opportunities to expand services with existing and prospective clients.
Technical Research & Continuous Learning
Conduct in‑depth tax research and provide well‑supported recommendations.
Stay current on changes in tax laws, regulations, and professional standards.
Uphold the highest standards of integrity and maintain client confidentiality.
Qualifications Education & Credentials
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
CPA license or JD with an active law license (required)
Experience & Technical Expertise
4+ years of progressive experience in tax compliance and / or consulting, preferably within public accounting
Strong knowledge of corporate income tax and ASC 740 (Accounting for Income Taxes)
Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and corporate tax regulations
Broad experience in income tax compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions
Knowledge of international taxation and transfer pricing (a plus)
Familiarity with OneSource Tax Provision software (preferred)
Skills & Competencies
