This new position is part of the HR team that will enhance the success of our business and reports to the VP, Human Resources. The HR Coordinator supports the HR team relating to the department administrative tasks. Other projects and responsibilities in the department may be included as needed.

The position requires an experienced and knowledgeable HR coordinator with strong relationship and communication skills. As the expert who works on many day‑to‑day issues, the HR coordinator is a problem solver and adaptable change manager. Demonstrating sound judgment: decisions come from a fact‑based and informed position.

Key Responsibilities Include

Assist and oversee initiatives for the office to include coordinating candidate interviews, employee engagement initiatives and facility specific programs.

Ensure needs are met in a timely manner and with the highest level of customer service in support of HR functional support, as well as manager and employee transactional HR support.

Provide HR Policy guidance to assist employees in locating and navigating enterprise and divisional policies.

Oversee onboarding activities for all new hires to ensure complete and accurate information is collected and entered into HR systems and to ensure positive experience for all candidates.

Support New Hire Orientation, as well as monitoring of candidate experience to ensure alignment with culture and efficiency of activities.

Coordinate day‑to‑day HR administrative tasks to ensure compliance and accurate entry of data into HR systems.

Partner with HR teams to design effective programs, processes, and policies to ensure standards across the facility/division are aligned within each facility and across all areas.

Identify and implement HR best practices to align, partner and collaborate with leadership to ensure high standards of service.

Perform ad hoc requests and assist with special projects and other tasks or initiatives as needed.

Assists the HR team with integrating culture standards consistent with the company’s mission, vision and values into business/facility/market/division practices and processes to ensure all employees experience and engage in supporting the desired work culture.

Assists the HR team with the implementation of programs/initiatives to increase awareness and understanding by employees and leaders.

Supports the HR team to develop, implement, and improve processes for engagement and communication

Answers and directs departmental phone calls and organizes appointments.

Performs other Human Resources related duties as assigned.

Successful Candidates Will Have These Skills And Experience

At least 2 years of human resources work experience with expertise in HR support and in environments that have a majority of non‑exempt workers.

Exposure to transportation, food service, warehouse and customer service would be ideal.

A demonstrated ability to engage with employees.

Strong follow‑up skills.

Excellent written communication skills.

Organized and able to follow through, keeping both short‑term and long‑term priorities in balance.

Able to see initiatives through to completion, even while things are changing.

Able to build effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels of an organization.

College degree preferred, SHRM qualifications helpful.
