Material Handler
Indorama Ventures Dallas, TX Job Summary
The Logistics Material Handler is responsible for the movement, storage, and organization of materials within the facility, ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency in all tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely operate forklifts, and other material handling equipment to move raw materials, finished products, and supplies. Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper documentation and verification of materials received or shipped. Verify and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, documenting any discrepancies. Move raw materials and finished goods to designated storage areas or production lines using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment. Prepare orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy in quantity and packaging. Maintain proper inventory levels and ensure materials are stored according to company and safety standards. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) or other tracking systems to record and update inventory transactions. Follow all OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies and procedures. Inspect equipment and trailers before use, reporting any issues or necessary repairs. Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory checks as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization inside and outside the facility. Collaborate with other departments, such as production and quality control, to ensure smooth workflow. Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Experience and Requirements
High school diploma or GED preferred. 3+ years of proven experience in shipping, receiving or warehouse operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods. Basic computer skills and experience with inventory tracking systems is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Good communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Ability to understand and follow safety procedures. Must conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner.
Working Conditions
Manufacturing and warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures. May require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally. Position requires approximately 12 hours of working in extreme temperatures. Position requires approximately 12 hours per day standing and/or walking. Requires standing, bending, lifting, and operating heavy equipment. Full-time, with flexibility to address operational needs during non-standard hours.
