Job Description The Morsani College of Medicine (MCOM) has active research programs in basic, translational, and clinical sciences. The MCOM Office of Research supports faculty and students with their research endeavors by providing research administrative support. This office reports to the Vice Dean of Research and is part of the MCOM Dean's Office. The Office of Research has assumed all research administration for USF Health. As part of this centralization, this position provides fiscal and budget analysis and support to the administration of USF Health and College of Medicine Office of Research.
Responsibilities
Work with department chairs and principal investigators in fiscal management and compliance of Federal, State, and private awards; track project setup and monitor projects from start to finish.
Complete analysis on initiatives related to compliance: tracking grant transactions, reviewing CAS exceptions, reviewing overspent budgets, tracking effort vs. proposed, and reviewing split PCard charges.
Submit documentation for budget transfers, travel reports, payroll and nonpayroll expenditure transfers, payment distributions, or cash receipt corrections; monitor cash and expenditures on auxiliary accounts.
Perform analytical analysis of departmental financial statements; review budget-to-actual variances on all funding sources.
Assist departments with yearly all-source budgets; balance budgets with detailed review of actual vs. budget for state accounts, grants, and clinical trials; advise on potential areas of over/under allocation and necessary budget transfers.
Reconcile all accounts (E&G, grant, USF Foundation, Research Foundation, Rebate Accounts, Auxiliary accounts, carry‑forward, etc.) and resolve discrepancies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or another field directly related to the responsibilities, plus 0–2 years of fiscal related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications University experience, knowledge of grants; familiarity with Oracle and PeopleSoft; proficiency with Excel.
Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree.

Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
