Enforcement and Removal Assistant (OA)
These positions are located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), in multiple locations specified in this announcement. The duty location at the final job offer will be based on agency needs, availability of positions, and funding.
Summary As an Enforcement and Removal Assistant (OA), at the full performance level you will perform a variety of duties, such as:
Researching detainee history using multiple sources to establish identity/citizenship and manage detained and non‑detained dockets.
Providing administrative support to managers, supervisors, or staff members by assisting in the day‑to‑day management of the office's activities.
Summarizing and tabulating detainee information from various reports and utilizing a variety of databases and automated systems.
Generating and verifying detainee reports, encounters, charging documents, studies, data quality and creating and revising spreadsheets, charts, graphs, and presentations.
Exercising quality control over bond paperwork.
Requirements and Conditions of Employment
You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.
You must successfully pass a background investigation, including a credit check, review of financial issues, and certain criminal offenses and illegal use or possession of drugs.
Selective Service: Males born after 12/31/59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
One‑year probationary period may be required.

Minimum Qualifications GS‑05 Specialized Experience
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS‑04, including:
Performing record‑keeping and reporting.
Compiling, maintaining, and updating automated records.
Responding to requests for procedural information.
Education Substitution Alternatively, you must have successfully completed four years of education above high school in any field. One year of full‑time academic study is 30 semester hours.
Combination of Education and Experience Appropriate combination of post‑high‑school education and experience to meet GS‑05 level requirements.
GS‑06 Specialized Experience
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS‑05, including:
Processing individuals arrested or detained by law enforcement officials.
Performing file searches and assembling documentation.
Responding to routine requests and issues regarding legal or law enforcement policies.
Typing Requirement Ability to type at least 40 words per minute with no more than three errors.
