Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proficient Part-Time Accountant to manage the financial records for our association in Naperville, IL. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate books, performing key accounting functions, and providing timely financial reports directly to the Treasurer. Proficiency in QuickBooks is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver timely and accurate monthly financial statements and reports to the Association's Treasurer.
Manage all aspects of accounts payable, including verifying invoices and issuing checks for payment.
Perform monthly reconciliations for all bank accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
Create, post, and maintain accurate journal entries in the general ledger.
Execute month-end closing procedures to ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded.
Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
Assist the Treasurer with other accounting-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
Required:
Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on accounting experience.
Mandatory proficiency and demonstrated experience with QuickBooks.
Solid understanding of bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
Preferred:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus but not required.
Experience working with a non-profit or community association is highly desirable.
Work Schedule and Compensation
This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule. The number of hours per week may fluctuate based on workload and organizational needs.
Compensation is competitive and will be based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
Training on specific association procedures will be provided.
