Summary Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC) is seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to support federal and commercial projects across diverse business lines, including security services, logistics, facility O&M, IT/administration, construction, environmental remediation, telecommunications, and procurement. This role is responsible for preparing and administering contractual agreements and related documentation for BSNC and its subsidiaries. The Contracts Administrator is responsible for preparing non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, subcontracts and other formal documents, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. Reporting directly to the Supervisory Contracts Manager, this position also provides technical guidance and documentation support to Business Development, Legal, Operations, Accounting, and other departments. Additional responsibilities include assisting with contract audits and compliance reviews. Work location options include BSNC’s Anchorage headquarters, a satellite office, or remote work for qualified candidates outside BSNC office areas.

Provides day-to-day contract administration for federal contracts, subcontracts, non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, and other formal documents for a variety of project types as assigned.
Prepares and negotiates subcontracts and other contract agreements in accordance with BSNC’s policies and procedures, including coordination between executive management, legal counsel, subcontractors, consultants, and customers to execute contracts that effectively mitigate risk.
Maintains accurate contract and subcontract information in BSNC’s Contract Management system in accordance with policies and procedures.
Maintains contracts, subcontracts, and related files/records in a central repository of record in accordance with policies and procedures for audit readiness.
Updates contract files for change orders, modifications, and critical communications concerning disputes, deliveries, claims, changes, or performance issues.
Prepares and disseminates information regarding contract status, compliance, modification, and termination to legal counsel. Notifies management team of executed changes.
Participates in contract audits for compliance with procedures, FAR, DFARS, government regulations, and state law.
Ensures compliance reports are submitted or dispatched accurately and timely in accordance with contract and corporate requirements.
Dispatches contract information to department representatives as needed to support procedural requirements.
Creates and maintains tracking logs of contract status, including contract values, funding, task orders, modifications, scope, and period of performance.
Maintains and updates all required reporting in the System for Award Management (SAM) as assigned.
Works with the corporate Legal department as well as the Business Development/Operations Groups to structure contracts that effectively manage risk for the company.
Corresponds with internal and external customers. This includes working with customers to coordinate modifications and working with Finance/Accounting department to ensure there is adequate funding for incrementally funded projects.
Coordinates contract administration between executive management, attorney, subcontractors, consultants and customers.
Manages and updates BSNC’s standard operating procedures for contract administration in coordination with the Director of Contracts/Legal Administration or General Counsel.
Other duties as assigned.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO’s)
Must be proficient with the application and knowledge of the FAR, DFARS, Service Contract Act, Davis Bacon Act, GSA schedules, and various contract types.
Minimum 4-6 years’ experience with contract administration, compliance, purchasing or related field, preferably in support of federal government construction and/or services contracts.
Excellent Proficiency with Microsoft Software Suite (Word, Excel, Sharepoint, and PowerPoint).
Possess a strong desire to expand responsibility and increase experience and knowledge through continuing education. BSNC will work with the appropriate candidate to grow his/her experience and knowledge.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Other Characteristics
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in contract formation, government contracting processes, such as solicitation, source selection, purchasing, contract administration, and closeout.
Able to interpret the FAR, standard contract terms and conditions, contract parts and organization, prime-sub arrangements, and supplier sales forms.
Knowledgeable in commercial contracts principles including Uniform Commercial Code, master agreements, and other standard forms.
Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and apply sound judgment and reasoning skills to a variety of situations, multi-task and collaborate effectively with other personnel under tight deadlines.
Verbal and written communication, attention to detail, organizational skills, and familiarity with contracts and compliance concepts. Able to work with lengthy documents within critical deadlines.
Ability to identify potential contractual issues early and recommend effective solutions.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in the field of Business, Accounting or Legal process preferred.
Involvement with Department of Defense projects is a plus.
Necessary Physical Requirements Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; most of time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about.
Dot Covered/Safety-sensitive Role Requirements
This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

Additional Qualifying Factors As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre‑employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
