Digital Media Specialist Purpose: The Digital Media Specialist will support and execute digital media campaigns to recruit participants for clinical trials. This role blends creative graphic design (40%) with a heavier emphasis on digital marketing and social media strategy (60%), with the majority of work focused on developing and implementing patient‑facing materials that educate, inform, and attract participants.

Job Summary Reporting directly to the Director of Patient Recruitment, the Digital Media Specialist will combine creative design expertise with hands‑on digital campaign management. The role requires experience with digital advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, etc.) and the ability to produce clear, engaging patient‑facing content that complies with regulatory requirements while strengthening the organization’s digital brand.

Key Responsibilities Digital Marketing & Social Media Strategy (60%)

Plan, execute, and optimize patient‑facing digital advertising campaigns across Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, and other platforms.

Manage and grow organizational social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X/Twitter) with a focus on patient recruitment messaging.

Develop, schedule, and implement a social media calendar aligned with recruitment goals, study timelines, and seasonal opportunities.

Write, design, and publish engaging posts and ad copy tailored to patients and caregivers.

Monitor campaign analytics (leads, conversions, impressions, engagement) and provide detailed performance reports to leadership.

Conduct A/B testing of messaging and creative to improve patient engagement and campaign effectiveness.

Ensure all campaigns meet compliance requirements (HIPAA, IRB) for patient‑facing outreach.

Graphic Design & Branding (40%)

Design and produce patient‑facing digital assets including ads, graphics, infographics, animations, and short videos.

Maintain a consistent visual identity across patient recruitment campaigns and social platforms.

Translate clinical and medical information into clear, accessible, and visually engaging content for potential participants.

Build and organize a digital asset library of recruitment materials for future use.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Digital Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).

2–4 years of professional experience in digital marketing and graphic design, with an emphasis on patient‑facing or consumer‑focused campaigns.

Proven experience managing and placing digital ads using Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager (or similar platforms).

Strong portfolio demonstrating design and campaign work targeting consumers or patients.

Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro) or equivalent design tools.

Familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Meta Insights, etc.).

Certifications in Social Media Strategy, Google Ads, or Digital Marketing strongly preferred.

Desired Skills

Ability to craft patient‑friendly messaging and visuals that build trust and engagement.

Strong understanding of social media algorithms, targeting, and ad optimization for patient audiences.

Excellent copywriting and content creation skills for ads, social media, and landing pages.

Organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable balancing multiple patient‑focused campaigns at once.

Collaborative, adaptable, and proactive in a fast‑paced environment.

Physical Requirements
