The Detailing Manager oversees all aspects of the steel detailing and coordination process, ensuring accuracy, compliance with contract documents, and adherence to fabrication and erection schedules. This role involves managing a team of in-house and outsourced detailers, coordinating with project managers, engineers, and fabricators, and ensuring drawings meet both AISC and project-specific standards.
Qualifications
must have Experience in steel detailing, structural design, and interpreting blueprints
Must have experience Review and manage model coordination using Tekla, SDS/2, or AutoCAD (as applicable).
Strong organizational and team leadership skills
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for structural and miscellaneous steel design
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred
Familiarity with fabrication processes and project management experience are advantageous
Required Qualifications
Must have a minimum of 7–10 years of experience in steel detailing, including 3–5 years in a leadership role.
Must have strong knowledge of AISC, AWS D1.1, ASTM, and OSHA standards.
Must be proficient in Tekla Structures, SDS/2, and/or AutoCAD.
Must understand fabrication and erection sequences, tolerances, and field requirements.
Must have strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to manage multiple projects under pressure and tight deadlines.
