Base pay range $24.00/hr - $29.00/hr
The Food Services Coordinator is a full-time, ten-month position reporting to the Managing Director of Operations and Human Resources. This employee ensures student access to nutritional foods in a warm, welcoming, and clean environment; smooth and efficient daily operation of the school cafeteria; and adherence to local, state, and federal requirements.
The Food Services Manager (FSM) is responsible for leading all aspects of the school’s food service program, ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations—including the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), and Massachusetts DESE nutrition standards. The FSM ensures that every student has access to nutritious meals in a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment that reflects the school’s mission and values. In addition to overseeing daily meal service, the FSM manages catering and hospitality for school events, works closely with the school nurse to accommodate student dietary needs and allergies, and supports school-wide operations by assisting with event setup as needed.
What You Will Do
Distribute pre-packaged meals to students for breakfast and lunch each day following planned menus.
Coordinate Food Services Administration and Point of Sale.
Place pre-packaged food orders with the external food provider.
Assure that the food provider is maintaining federal nutritional requirements.
Distribute and track monthly billing for student meals (when applicable).
Prepare and provide monthly reimbursement claims.
Ensure Cafeteria and Kitchen organization and cleanliness in accordance with the Board of Health requirements.
Manage food service supply inventory and request orders as needed.
Event Coordination for student and staff events.
Required Skills & Experience
2 or more years of experience working in educational food services.
Associate’s Degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality, or related field; candidates with relevant experience from education, public, or private sectors will be considered.
Demonstrated expertise with computer information and data management systems, including Office, Google Apps, and experience with, or the ability to learn the student information system.
Flexibility; the ability to handle unforeseen challenges and to work independently.
Strong work ethic, including a demonstrated ability to set and meet goals, establish timelines and consistently meet deadlines.
Ability to promote a structured, orderly, safe, and respectful school environment that fosters student-centered learning.
Demonstrated ability to connect with diverse students and families.
Outstanding written and oral communication skills.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Charter school experience preferred.
Compensation Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
