Essentials Functions of the Position
The Geologist is responsible for organizing, analyzing, and interpreting analytical data.
Plan and conduct investigations concerning hazard identification.
Conduct groundwater and surface water sampling activities.
Develop project field procedures.
Supervise sample preparation, collection, quality assurance, and delivery to the lab.
Provide technical support for Remedial Investigation soil sampling.
Collaborate on reporting results and detailing action plans based on field studies.
Make recommendations for necessary remedial actions.
Create project status reports.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements of the Position
Bachelor's or master's degree in Geological Sciences.
5 or more years' experience as a geologist.
5 or more years of experience in contaminated site characterization and clean-up.
Experience in Geographic Information System Software, hydrogeologic modeling, and data processing software.
Knowledge of and experience with regulatory compliance and agency coordination required.
Experience collaborating with other subject matter experts in a team setting.
Microsoft Office Suite experience is needed.
40-hour HAZWOPER training required.
