Position Summary Responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating safety/environmental compliance and programs for manufacturing and field operations. Provides leadership and is responsible for overseeing day-to-day test preparation and execution activities, including resource scheduling, team communications, and status reporting, as well as promoting and overseeing the use of established best practices, policies, and procedures related to Quality Assurance and industry codes and standards.

Job Description

Ensure that all processes needed for the Quality Management System (QMS) are established, implemented, and maintained.

Promote awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.

Establish and maintain records to provide evidence that the QMS is being followed and that there is a system in place for identification, storage, protection, retrieval, retention time, and disposition of such records.

Align the quality management function with the performance needs of the business units.

Review products, processes, and systems on an ongoing basis to determine where improvements can be made.

Be an active participant in production meetings with the manufacturing team.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and rules.

Inspect facilities, machinery, equipment, and personnel practices.

Evaluate Emergency Action Program.

Audit safety systems, policies, and procedures.

Audit Vehicle Administration program.

Audit HSE inspections.

Conduct HSE training for employees and management.

Conduct Cat 4 and Cat 5 incident investigations and provide recommendations.

Document Cat 4 and Cat 5 incident data and file reports.

Oversee Loss Prevention Team meetings and progress.

Review incidents, approve documentation and corrective actions.

Follow up with incident corrective actions.

Analyze HSE incident information in the HSE database.

Review and approve safety award tracking for the region.

Interpret safety, environmental, DOT, and workers compensation regulations.

Develop safety systems, policies, and procedures.

Represent the organization with government agencies, attorneys, clients, and consultants.

Direct others regarding HSE.

Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, 25% of the time outside the area.

On call 24/7/365.

Proficient in presentation capabilities.

Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, keyboarding, MS PowerPoint, and networking.

Ability to communicate to top-level management on HSE issues.

Ability to efficiently train 90% of HSE programs and policies.

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Or high school degree plus eight (8) years of directly related experience in a similar, heavy manufacturing setting where technical and supervisory experience and competence have been clearly demonstrated.

Preferred oil & gas related experience.

Excellent verbal and analytical skills.

Physical Strain

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.

Must be able to climb ladders and stairs.

May be required to lift up to thirty (30) pounds.
