A neighborhood hospital with medical center excellence! The new state‑of‑the‑art hospital will join UHS’ growing regional network of healthcare operations. The Alan B. Miller Medical Center will feature 150 private patient rooms, a medical office building and a helistop. Upon completion of the initial phase of the project, the hospital campus will include 365,000 square feet of hospital and medical office space. The new Medical Center will offer comprehensive medical services including Emergency Care, Orthopedics and Surgical Services, Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care, Oncology, Cardiovascular and Neurosurgical services. In addition, the campus will be home to medical office buildings that will provide outpatient services.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Nursing, Microbiology, or related science.

Nursing licensure in FL (for nursing applicants)

Minimum of 2 years of hospital experience preferred

Required: Certification in Infection Control (CIC) within 2 years of hire

Infection Prevention Manager Role and Responsibilities Responsible for assigned hospital activities, including educational presentations, consultation to departments on matters of infection control and prevention, surveillance of healthcare acquired infections, and organizational compliance with regulatory agency protocols.

Maintains goals and objectives of the Infection Prevention and Control Department. Serve as a resource person to any hospital employee/department as requested. Meet at least weekly or as needed with the Infection Prevention Director to review status of significant surveillance issues. Assist IP Director in implementing and maintaining updated reports in order to comply with TJC, OSHA, CDC, and other regulatory bodies. Maintains department records of all surveillance reports. Review Infection Control Worklist daily and conduct investigation of those that identify infections. Enter infection data in the Infection Control Module of MIDAS and/or into the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) data base. Attends advanced training in areas of specific needs applicable to Infection Control in order to enhance the capabilities of the employee and the department. Maintains the Infection Prevention continuous quality improvement plan as indicated by the hospital wide Infection Prevention and Control Program. Performs surveillance monitoring according to IP schedule. Participates in both environmental and infection prevention rounds. Submits required reports to the Palm Beach County Health Department. Provides staff education related to infection prevention and control. Supports staff with any PPE education or needs. Implements any specific toolkits developed by UHS and ensure compliance of these kits. Monitors and/or implements improvement plans for those National Patient Safety Goals related to Infection Prevention and Control. Assist in conducting pre-construction IP risk assessments and construction rounds. Assist in an annual IP risk assessment and utilize the assessment to determine IP needs for the next year. Evaluate the annual IP Plan for successes and areas for improvement to aid in developing the next year’s plan. Works to protect staff, providers and patients from infectious illnesses and disease.
