Job Description As a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) supporting our customer, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. The ATC will provide and facilitate injury prevention, basic care, acute care, effective rehabilitative care, and performance enhancement for personnel in the HP program. The ATC’s responsibilities include:

How a Certified Athletic Trainer will make a difference

Provide HP services within the scope of practice as defined by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA).

Design and fabricate protective pads, equipment, and braces to help prevent and treat injuries, including tapping techniques.

Provide instruction and guidance within the scope of practice.

Participate in periodic meetings to review patient care and identify opportunities for improvement.

Serve as an advisor to the HP program manager and/or coordinator on injury prevention, sports medicine, rehabilitation, and bridging.

Assist with administrative matters, purchasing of supplies and equipment, and fiscal requests.

Collaborate throughout the HP program to enhance quality of patient care.

Conduct equipment, product, and literature reviews to keep HP current.

Participate in quarterly peer reviews for non‑privileged healthcare providers.

Attend and participate in meetings with program staff and medical personnel as required.

Assist in developing and updating criteria‑based job descriptions and performance standards.

Assist in developing and maintaining clinical practice guidelines for all Human Performance Training Centers (HPTCs).

Prepare short and long‑term fiscal plans and submit input to the HP program manager.

Develop and promulgate training materials as requested.

Ensure safe and effective operation of equipment used for patient care.

Attend required training and conferences to maintain certification.

Perform clinical and administrative tasks as assigned.

Document care in the Military’s Electronic Health Record (AHLTA, GENESIS, etc.) and HP enterprise database (SPEAR).

Perform other tasks within the scope of the ATC position as assigned.

Collect and report all data as requested.

Use computers, software, and technologies as required.

Load or weigh up to 25 kilograms.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of continuous and sustained experience as an ATC with athletes at NCAA Collegiate, Olympic, professional, or military levels.

U.S. Citizenship.

Bachelor’s Degree (master’s preferred) in Athletic Training.

Must be NATABOC Certified.

Experience in strength and conditioning is recommended but not required.

Possess current certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS) or obtain within the first year of employment.

Valid unrestricted license from one of the 50 U.S. states or territories.

Maintain credentials in good standing at a local MTF where applicable.

Meet physical demands (hiking, austere environments, training with military personnel).

What You’ll Need to Succeed Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training.

Licenses / Certifications

NATABOC Certification

Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification

Valid unrestricted Athletic Trainer License

Clearance Must possess a Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Location Various OCONUS & CONUS sites; expected to start in 2026. Work locations may include USA FL Hurlburt Field, USA NM Cannon AFB, and other contractor sites.

Compensation Salary range: $62,075 – $83,983 (experience, location, and contractual factors may affect actual pay). Total compensation for international assignments may include allowances and relocation benefits.
