Job Description
We are looking for a Utility Locator to work outdoors, using a company-provided vehicle and laptop, to locate underground utilities for the excavator or property owner at the work site. You will be responsible for correctly, safely and efficiently locating utilities such as telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water and sewer systems. You must thoroughly search designated areas, mark the location, complete documentation and photograph each locate. This is a full-time daytime position with a 48‑hour turnaround on most locates, requiring overtime and weekend availability.
Compensation Starting rate ranges from $22.00 per hour for new locators to $30.00 per hour for those with substantial prior locating experience.
Your Responsibilities as a Locator
Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems.
Thoroughly search for underground utilities in a designated area, accurately marking the location, completing necessary documentation, and photographing each locate.

What We Need from You (Our Requirements)
Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Computer proficiency.
Available to work overtime and weekends, as needed.
Able to pass a drug screen (safety‑sensitive position).
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Able to work in confined spaces; walk, bend and lift up to 75 lbs.
Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.
Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, maps and prints.
Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
