Responsibilities
To support H‑E‑B Partners, Customers, and third‑party stakeholders, our Enterprise Safety Team ensures issuance and administration of safety training, policies, and programs across corporate, industrial, and retail facilities.
As a Regional Safety Advisor, you will support company objectives related to cost reduction and containment in safety and injury prevention in your assigned corporate, regional, industrial, or retail area.

We Are Looking For
3+ years of experience related to safety
Safety Responsibilities
Implements / sustains safety policy directives; ensures compliance with regulatory and company standards
Implements safety and accident prevention programs that ensure a safe place to work and shop
Provides technical assistance and consulting support
Implements / administers / advises others on hazard controls and related programs
Maintains training‑related records; monitors status of ongoing and completed facility training and OSHA record‑keeping
Recognizes safety opportunities; provides short‑ and long‑term solutions; identifies safety process improvement opportunities and provides solutions
Assists with projects, as assigned
Develops close working relationships with facility leaders
Develops / facilitates safety‑related training initiatives
Coaches / trains new and existing Partners and leaders on safety activities and responsibilities
Analyzes incident‑related trends; leads incident investigations to determine root cause(s); evaluates effectiveness of corrective actions
Conducts comprehensive facility safety and health audits
Compiles / presents key internal safety performance metrics and project status to facility leadership
Provides safety‑related inputs to support capital projects
Collaborates with Enterprise Safety for incident processing and other safety projects, as needed
May support specific safety programs as assigned technical lead (e.g., process safety management, lockout/tagout, electrical safety work practices, machine guarding, radiation)
Compliance / Auditing
Conducts safety reviews of corporate, industrial, or retail facilities to ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and related local, state, and federal policies, standards, and guidelines
Facilitates incident investigation process for work injuries, including OSHA serious injury procedures, specifically for investigation and root cause analysis
Assists with regulatory agency audits
What is Your Background?
A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience
3+ years of experience related to safety
Experience in retail, industrial, or corporate safety
Experience related to injury prevention, work injury, liability, safety, and accident prevention programs
OSHA 511 certification
Professional Safety certification (preferred)
Valid Driver's License
Do You Have What It Takes?
Working knowledge of all regulatory programs related to safety management
Verbal / written communication and presentation skills
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
PC skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), H‑E‑B network, and software / systems required by the job
Bi‑lingual (English – Spanish) skills (preferred)
Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between projects / tasks
Ability to adapt to new technology, respond effectively to changing conditions, and apply continuous improvement techniques (Plan, Do, Check, Act)
Ability to train
Ability to work independently; self‑motivated to learn / confidently apply new learnings
Ability to work through challenging situations, work collaboratively with all levels of leadership
Can You?
Function in a fast‑paced, retail, office environment
Travel to facilities throughout the H‑E‑B network with possible overnight stays
Work extended hours and flexible schedules, including some nights and weekends
