Overview The Radiology Department at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a Director of Interventional Oncology for a full‑time interventional radiologist position for our Longwood Medical Area location.

The Radiology department will be part of the exciting new clinical collaboration between Dana‑Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI), BIDMC, and Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians (HMFP) to establish New England’s only freestanding adult inpatient cancer hospital. The collaboration will bring together world‑class clinicians to deliver transformational, precision medicine in an environment solely dedicated to defying cancer.

The individual will be expected to support clinical service excellence, develop research in interventional oncology imaging, participate in multidisciplinary collaborations, support education and training in interventional oncology. Candidates should have an established reputation, appropriate publication and research record, and requisite clinical experience in the practice of Interventional Oncology. Additional expertise in establishing new interventional oncology service lines, leading a cancer‑focused interventional clinical trials group, and working with cancer center leadership in developing combination therapy trials and supporting research biopsies would be welcome.

Division Details The BIDMC Interventional Radiology Division has 12 full‑time faculty members, ACGME‑accredited IR / DR Integrated and Independent Residency programs, and 7 advanced practitioners. Hospital‑based facilities span two adjacent campuses and include 4 primary multi‑modality advanced angiography suites (with intra‑procedural CT capabilities and in‑room ultrasound), 3 additional fluoroscopy rooms, procedural CT suites, and a shared bi‑plane angiography suite. Additionally, the section staffs an off‑site outpatient vein center, an outpatient dialysis access care center, has initiated IR services at two community affiliate hospitals, and interprets diagnostic studies from an ICAVL‑accredited vascular lab. The practice has a robust formal inpatient consult service and outpatient clinic. The division has close collaborative relationships with referring services and staffs several multidisciplinary conferences per week and is embedded in several multispecialty cancer clinics.
