The strategy reflects an evolution of a successful 20+ year track record in private equity investing.

Position Overview The Vice President, Private Equity, will play a senior role in executing and advancing Taylor Street’s lower middle market private equity strategy. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this individual will lead the sourcing, evaluation, execution, and ongoing management of fund investments and direct co-investments. This role offers significant exposure to both fund and direct investments, with the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the long-term growth and institutionalization of the Taylor Street platform.

Key Responsibilities Investment Sourcing & Evaluation

Identify and assess private equity fund opportunities across buyout, growth equity, and special situations strategies.

Lead sourcing and diligence efforts for direct equity co-investments alongside established private equity sponsors.

Conduct thematic industry research to uncover attractive sectors, emerging trends, and high-potential fund managers.

Due Diligence & Investment Analysis

Perform comprehensive financial analysis, including LBO modeling, return sensitivity assessments, and capital structure evaluations.

Analyze fund manager track records, portfolio company performance, investment strategies, and operational capabilities.

Evaluate co-investment opportunities by reviewing company financials, competitive dynamics, and value creation potential.

Prepare detailed investment memoranda and presentations for internal investment committee and board-level discussions.

Transaction Execution & Structuring

Support the negotiation of investment terms and legal documentation for fund commitments and co-investments.

Collaborate with legal counsel to structure and close complex transactions involving customized agreements.

Manage closing processes and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely execution.

Portfolio Management & Monitoring

Monitor financial performance, risk exposure, and diversification across fund and co-investment portfolios.

Maintain active relationships with fund managers and portfolio company leadership teams.

Support quarterly and annual reporting, including valuation modeling, risk analysis, and exposure tracking.

Assist with capital call and distribution tracking in partnership with finance and operations teams.

Strategic Growth & Relationship Development

Cultivate relationships with clients, sponsors, intermediaries, and industry professionals nationwide.

Represent Taylor Street at industry conferences, networking events, and manager meetings.

Provide strategic and operational support to portfolio companies, including participation on Advisory Boards or as a Board Observer.

Contribute to the development of best practices and process enhancements for investment diligence and execution.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.

5-10 years of relevant experience in private equity, private credit, investment banking, or a related field.

Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence, with a strong understanding of lower middle market investment strategies.

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities, capable of articulating investment theses and recommendations clearly.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
