Senior Project Manager – Transportation & Civil Infrastructure We are seeking a senior project manager with expertise in transportation and civil infrastructure to help lead and build on our long‑standing presence in Santa Rosa, CA. This role is ideal for a California‑licensed P.E. with 10+ years of experience who thrives in managing complex projects, mentoring teams, and building strong client relationships.
Responsibilities
Lead design and project management efforts across transportation infrastructure projects, including roadway rehabilitation, new alignments, retaining walls, curbs, traffic improvements, wildlife crossings, highways, roundabouts, and multimodal corridors.
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to deliver high‑quality public infrastructure projects from concept through construction.
Navigate permitting processes, technical studies, and agency coordination to ensure smooth project delivery.
Apply a strong understanding of transportation design standards and regulatory requirements to guide project execution.
Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development through technical guidance and career support.
Represent BKF in client meetings, public forums, and industry events as a trusted advisor to stakeholders.
Identify new project opportunities and actively participate in business development efforts, including proposal preparation and cross‑selling services.
Build visibility and strengthen BKF’s transportation presence across the Bay Area through strategic engagement and relationship‑building.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in California (required).
Minimum 10 years of experience managing transportation civil infrastructure projects through the full lifecycle.
Proven success in business development, client relationship management, and strategic market positioning.
Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
Proficiency with project management tools and a strong background in design using AutoCAD/Civil‑3D.
Willingness to travel between offices and client sites.
Physical Demands Must be able to regularly talk, hear, and operate a computer, keyboard, and mouse, and occasionally lift, pull/push, and carry up to 20 pounds with accommodations.
Work Conditions Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high‑stress, fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented environment. Travel to other BKF locations and client sites may be required.
