Macdonald & Company has partnered with a well‑capitalized private industrial real estate platform to appoint a Vice President of Industrial Development based in Atlanta.
This is a strategic, origination‑focused role responsible for sourcing, underwriting, and securing new development opportunities across key growth markets in the Southeast. The position is suited to a driven dealmaker who thrives on building relationships, identifying off‑market land sites, and shaping development pipelines from concept through investment approval.
Base pay range $200,000.00/yr – $250,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
Source and originate industrial development opportunities across core and emerging Southeast markets
Maintain a strong network of brokers, landowners, tenants, and capital partners to identify off‑market deals
Lead initial underwriting, feasibility, and investment committee materials for new opportunities
Negotiate land purchase agreements, joint ventures, and development terms in collaboration with capital partners
Partner with internal construction and asset management teams post‑closing to ensure alignment on business plans
Stay ahead of market trends, tenant demand, and land pricing to inform pipeline strategy
Represent the platform’s brand, integrity, and investment philosophy in the marketplace
Qualifications
8+ years of industrial real estate development experience
Proven track record sourcing or closing industrial land or development transactions
Deep understanding of industrial market dynamics, site selection, and deal structuring
Strong financial acumen with ability to lead underwriting and investment analysis
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate autonomously and drive growth
Established relationships across the broker, tenant, and landowner community in Atlanta and the Southeast
