Mid Atlantic Search Consultant - Permanent Placement - Manufacturing, Logistics and Business Services
The Procurement Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials and services critical to our commercial and government projects. This role involves coordinating with project personnel to handle RFQs/RFIs, managing purchase requisitions, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. The successful candidate will engage in price and cost analysis, negotiate terms, and collaborate with suppliers to achieve cost savings while maintaining high standards of quality and delivery.
Responsibilities
Purchasing and Coordination : Execute RFQs/RFIs and process purchase requisitions for a wide range of materials and services.
Price and Cost Analysis : Conduct thorough price and cost analysis to ensure competitive pricing and cost savings.
Negotiation : Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure the best possible deals.
Supplier Management : Work with suppliers to address and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, and pricing.
Order Management : Enter and update purchase orders accurately and promptly.
Performance Tracking : Manage supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance and track cost savings.
Quality Control : Oversee the quality of purchased materials and manage Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs).
Qualifications
Experience : 3-5 years of experience in procurement or subcontracts.
Technical Skills : Ability to read and interpret drawings of mechanical parts and cables/harnesses.
Software Knowledge : Proficiency in M1 or similar ERP software.
Understanding of Materials : Ability to cut purchase orders, read Bills of Materials (BOMs), mechanical drawings and comprehend material requirements.
Preferred Skills
Certifications : Professional certification such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) is a plus.
Pay Range $60,000 – $70,000 per year
