Senior Highway Project Manager
Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Highway Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of roadway and transportation infrastructure projects. This is a leadership‑level opportunity to manage complex transportation projects while mentoring design teams and maintaining strong client relationships across the region.
Responsibilities
Oversee roadway and highway design projects from preliminary engineering through final design and delivery
Lead and mentor project teams of engineers and designers, ensuring high‑quality work and adherence to project standards
Manage budgets, schedules, and client communication to maintain project alignment and profitability
Develop design plans, reports, cost estimates, and specifications for roadway, intersection, and traffic improvement projects
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure project success
Provide technical guidance on roadway modeling, design standards, and best practices for public infrastructure projects
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master's degree
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
10+ years of progressive experience in highway design and project management
Experience managing DOT or municipal roadway projects, including preliminary and final design phases
Proficiency with roadway design software such as MicroStation, Civil 3D, or OpenRoads
Strong technical knowledge of AASHTO, MUTCD, and DOT design standards
Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship skills
