Senior Director of Dining and Auxiliary Services
Georgetown University seeks an experienced leader to oversee day‑to‑day operations of contracted and auxiliary services across all campuses. The role provides operational leadership, strategic oversight of construction and facility maintenance, and management of food service, catering, and auxiliary services.
Responsibilities
Provide operational leadership for dining plans, independent food retail vendors, and auxiliary services.
Direct staff and indirect reports, ensuring performance and quality customer service.
Visit dining and other business sites daily to interact with customers and contractors.
Incorporate sustainability best practices in coordination with the Office of Sustainability.
Serve on university‑wide committees and task forces (e.g., emergency management).
Oversee print operations, recruiting, and workforce development.
Develop technology and delivery system improvements to enhance customer experience.
Support campus operations during summer, NSO coordination, and emergency meetings.
Collect VOC data, develop SLAs and KPIs, and manage vendor performance.
Review contracts to ensure compliance and manage construction projects.
Maintain equipment, asset tracking, and regulatory compliance (PCI, licenses).
Explore revenue‑generating arrangements and new business marketing opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, culinary arts, hospitality management, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5 years of managing dining and catering services in an educational institution.
Experience with labor relations, union staff management, and bargaining agreements.
Customer‑service focus with hospitality expertise and strong operational details.
Ability to work collaboratively, prioritize, and adapt during shifting demands.
Strong communication with constituents at all organizational levels.
Capacity to make fast decisions, handle stress, and remain professional.
Willingness to work long or weekend hours, evenings, and serve as an emergency operations employee.
Demonstrated commitment to diverse populations and inclusive customer service practices.
Organizational and project‑management skills with contract‑management acumen.
Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

Pay Range $80,429.00 – $157,238.93 (Determined by qualifications, experience, and university business needs)
