Project Manager – Visual Merchandising Operations
A leading brand in the
retail and athletic apparel industry
is seeking a
Project Manager of Visual Merchandising Operations
to support end-to-end design and production across retail and wholesale environments in North America. This role combines creative project management, vendor coordination, and operational execution to ensure seamless seasonal rollouts and retail experiences.
About the Role
Manage the
design, production, and rollout
of visual merchandising and retail experience projects for both retail and wholesale channels
Serve as the
primary point of contact
for cross-functional teams and vendors, managing timelines, approvals, and quality control
Oversee the
Visual Merchandising (VM) calendar , ensuring smooth coordination for GTM launches, events, new store openings, and construction timelines
Partner with creative, operations, and finance teams to manage purchase orders, track budgets, and maintain cost‑effective execution
Support the visual merchandising design process, ensuring all work aligns with
brand strategy, creative guidelines, and consumer expectations
Lead meetings, maintain documentation, and manage the Visual Inbox and related systems to ensure operational excellence
Collaborate closely with the Sr. Manager of Creative Visual Merchandising and Operations and help mentor two direct reports
What You’ll Bring
5+ years of experience in
retail visual merchandising , including 2–4 years in a
corporate or global environment
Proven ability to
manage multiple high-priority projects
with tight deadlines and cross-functional dependencies
Strong background in
vendor management ,
inventory control , and
budget tracking
Bachelor’s degree in
Visual Merchandising, Fashion Design, Retail Marketing , or related field (or equivalent experience)
Proficiency in
Adobe Creative Suite
(InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator),
PowerPoint , and
project management tools
(Asana or similar)
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills — able to guide teams and manage expectations across departments
Experience fostering collaboration and creative excellence within a
fast‑paced, growing retail brand
Details
Hybrid: 3 days onsite at Boston Landing or Lawrence, MA
Contract role with potential for extension
