As we scale, we seek a visionary Director of Finance to lead our financial strategy, streamline operations, and ensure fiscal stability. The Director of Finance will play a critical role in aligning our financial systems with the operational goals of our B2B business, driving growth, and solidifying our industry leadership.
Objectives of this Role
Strategic Financial Leadership:
Own and oversee cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Operational Budgeting:
Develop and coordinate annual operating, capital, and project budgets that account for the unique cycles of the HVAC industry.
Cash Flow Optimization:
Ensure cash flow supports operations, inventory management, and equipment financing.
Process and Compliance Excellence:
Implement best practices and ensure compliance with local and national financial regulations, specifically those impacting HVAC businesses, including tax planning for equipment sales and service contracts.
Growth Enablement:
Guide the financial strategy to support business expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop budgets tailored to B2B operations, ensuring financial visibility and compliance with customer contracts, service agreements, and project timelines.
Identify opportunities for profit improvement, cost reduction and loss minimisation.
Advising the CEO and senior management team on all matters relating to financial performance and provide guidance on financial strategy.
Analyze HVAC market trends and company performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and increased profitability.
Manage risk through careful analysis of company liabilities, equipment financing options, and customer payment terms.
Oversee company-wide inventory management.
Monitor business performance, establish corrective measures, and provide detailed reports for the CEO.
Supervise financial personnel and ensure IT systems are optimized for B2B financial operations, including billing, service contract management, and customer financing options.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Minimum of ten years in a financial leadership role within a B2B organization.
Proven ability to align financial strategies with operational goals in a project-driven environment.
Strong leadership and integrity, with a track record of fostering collaboration and accountability.
Expertise in advanced accounting practices, tax planning for equipment-based businesses, and regulatory compliance.
Proven success in implementing scalable financial systems and process improvements to support organizational growth.
Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization to drive profitability.
Demonstrated ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable strategies for operational and financial efficiency.
Experience leading cross-departmental initiatives and aligning finance goals with overall business objectives.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to act as a
