As a Composite Technician, you will be responsible for repairing damaged composite aircraft sidewalls. This involves removing sidewalls from crates, inspecting for damage, and performing a series of manual processes including de‑laminating, sanding, pre‑painting, applying epoxy, and re‑laminating to restore the parts to their original condition. Your keen eye for detail will be essential in ensuring each part is visually inspected and looks impeccable before re‑packaging. Additionally, you will assemble small parts using hand tools in a manual process.
Responsibilities
Repair damaged composite aircraft sidewalls.
Remove composite sidewalls from crates and inspect for damage.
De‑laminate, sand, pre‑paint, apply epoxy, and re‑laminate parts.
Perform visual inspection of parts to ensure quality.
Assemble up to 15–18 small parts using hand tools.
Essential Skills
Experience with composite materials.
Experience in aerospace, automotive, boat building, or auto body shop environments.
Proficiency in sanding, epoxy application, and lamination.
Strong visual inspection skills.
At least 1 year of relevant experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in woodworking or paint preparation is beneficial.
Experience from auto body repair, boat repair, or woodworking backgrounds may be a good fit.
Ability to work with test panels before handling actual sidewalls.
