Job Description The Job Mission: You will play a crucial role supporting the delivery of the Sizewell C (SZC), a landmark nuclear project shaping the future of clean energy. Be a key player in this multi‑billion‑pound venture – one of the largest and most exciting developments in the UK today. As Senior Project Manager in a technical programme, you'll be in the driver’s seat, managing a high‑performing multi‑disciplinary team and overseeing the end‑to‑end delivery of critical systems, structures, and components for a number of buildings and contracts within the technical area. This is a hybrid role, with approximately 2–3 days based in the London or Bristol office and the remainder of the week working from home, subject to your manager’s requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Leading Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams to achieve flawless delivery

Owning budgets, schedules, risk management, and quality assurance

Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to navigate complex interfaces seamlessly

Utilising your technical expertise and leadership to ensure the highest standards in execution and compliance

Ensuring that the LoD are consistent with the agreed schedule(s) and that Contract Partner(s) deliver design output in accordance with the agreed schedule and the LoD

Coordination of the Task Order preparation for Equipment scope, preparation of Change Requests related to Task Order changes

Anticipating, managing and resolving issues within the contact or package; identifying risks and facilitating the resolution of all issues raised, developing and updating the programme budget

Undertaking contract administration activities (with support of a Commercial Manager) including variations, Early Warnings, Compensation Events and claims, technical queries and instructions

Managing risks & opportunities, and facilitating the resolution of all issues raised, developing and updating the programme budget, and escalating any issues

Managing design changes and configuration management

Proficient application of estimating, scheduling, programming, risk, and Earned Value Management tools

Ensuring effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including interactions between the Programme and other engineering sequences

Applying the principles of Continuous Improvement, ensuring that lessons‑learnt and knowledge‑capture are practiced as business as usual

Qualifications A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction or a related field

Professional qualifications such as MIMechE and ICE, etc.

Qualification in Project Management such as APM PPQ or other recognised qualification

Proven track record in delivering large‑scale, complex projects

Experience of working over the full lifecycle of a project, from initial design through to commissioning

Commercial expertise, including managing high‑value contracts, cost control, and resolving claims.

Experienced in Risk & Quality Management

Proven relevant experience in a Project Management environment in a similar role

Technical/practical comprehension of engineering, procurement and construction methods and techniques

Hands‑on expertise with Earned Value tools, CDM Regulations, and quality assurance

Ability to produce accurate, complete and fully logic‑linked construction plans

High level of analytical and numerical skills

Good attention to detail

Ability to influence and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders

Excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills

Desired Skills Experience in the nuclear sector, or other highly regulated environments

Knowledge and understanding of the EPR design

Professionally qualified with chartered or equivalent status

Experience of major construction projects

Experience of various contract types, in particular the NEC suite and FIDIC

Understanding of earned value analysis
