About The Company We represent an early‑stage robotics startup based in the U.S., building rugged, scalable robots for situational awareness in hazardous environments. Their technology supports firefighting, emergency response, public safety, oil and gas, defense, and industrial operations. Their mission is to create a new generation of reliable, scalable robots that provide critical solutions in some of the world’s most dangerous environments.
The company is backed by top‑tier investors and is actively collaborating with more than 80 major fire departments, law enforcement agencies, industrial teams, and military units across the country. Their robots are built in partnership with the people who need them most—first responders, firefighters, and emergency crews.
They’re still early, a tight‑knit team developing the next generation of our robot after multiple prototypes, demos, and pilots. Joining now means helping shape not just the product, but also the company, culture, and mission from the ground up.
About The Role Our client is looking for an Electrical Engineer to design and build the electrical systems that power their robots. You will work on circuit design, embedded systems, power distribution, and sensor integration. This is a hands‑on role where you will solder boards, assemble harnesses, troubleshoot, and test systems in the lab and field.
You will collaborate closely with the mechanical and software teams and take ownership of your designs from prototype to deployment. We value initiative, attention to detail, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Design analog and digital circuits for power, sensors, and control
Develop and test PCBs, from schematic to layout and bring‑up
Troubleshoot electrical issues across the full system
Create and maintain wiring diagrams and grounding plans
Support sensor selection and integration
Run tests for thermal, EMI, and vibration performance
Build and validate cable harnesses and enclosures
Run SPICE simulations for noise and stability
Document designs and participate in reviews
Help improve testing tools and internal standards
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
2+ years designing and testing circuit boards for embedded systems
Skilled in Altium, KiCad, or Eagle
Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design
Familiar with UART, SPI, I2C, and CAN
Comfortable using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters
Experience soldering SMD components and building wiring harnesses
SPICE simulation experience
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years in hardware‑focused environments
Experience designing boards that have shipped or been field‑deployed
Knowledge of thermal and EMI/EMC design practices
Familiarity with embedded C or C++
Experience with harnessing tools like RapidHarness or SolidWorks Electrical
Background in startup or early‑stage hardware teams
Additional Requirements
Willing to work extra hours when needed
Hands‑on with design, assembly, and testing
Open to helping teammates and improving processes
Skills spice, eagle, electrical engineering, uart, spi, altium, embedded systems, circuit board, digital circuit design, can, i2c, kicad, analog circuit design, pcb design
