About the role PKL Services will be providing contractor O-Level maintenance in support of the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing squadrons on Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, CA, and Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, CA. The Aircraft Mechanic II (Airframes) performs scheduled and unscheduled O-Level maintenance on MV‑22B aircraft airframe, power plants, structures, and related systems. The mechanic must possess experience repairing composite and sheet metal, aircraft structures, and hydraulic components of a difficulty level deemed moderate to complex.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in aircraft launch and recovery cycles to support the daily flight schedule.

Inspect aircraft by performing daily, pre‑flight, and post‑flight inspections; document results.

Perform unscheduled and scheduled maintenance, including periodic, hourly, calendar, and conditional inspections.

Provide corrosion prevention and treatment on squadron aircraft.

Act as a Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) when tasked by the Site Manager.

Serve as a qualified director, walker, or brake rider in the towing of aircraft.

Service systems and airframe/engine components at the O‑Level while ensuring proper safety procedures and precautions in flight line and hanger deck areas.

Operate support equipment for on‑ and off‑aircraft maintenance.

Accurately document all maintenance in NALCOMIS/OOMA automated system.

Provide guidance and technical expertise to lower‑level technicians during aircraft modifications and maintenance efforts.

Perform any other duties as assigned by the Program Manager or Site Manager.

About You

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of three (3) years U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, or Air Force organizational‑level aircraft maintenance experience with the V‑22 aircraft.

Completed Navy Skill Specialty Class "C" school in airframes systems or equivalent U.S. Marine Corps/USAF class.

Ability to acquire all required Support Equipment licenses as mandated by the Site Manager.

Valid U.S. State Driver’s License.

Past experience troubleshooting and repairing airframe‑related systems on the V‑22 series.

Within 90 days of hiring, qualify as an MV‑22 Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI).

Within 90 days of hiring, be proficient with NALCOMIS OOMA automated maintenance documentation system.

Thorough practical and theoretical knowledge of airframe work‑center O‑Level publications relevant to the assignment.

Confident in performing all airframe work‑center designated tasks outlined in the IETM.

Knowledge of the CNAFINST 4790.2 (NAMP), NAMSOPs, and local NAMPSOP instructions.

Experience using power tools, testing equipment, and precision measuring devices for aircraft maintenance and repair.

Must possess U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Secret Security Clearance.

Ability to transfer technical knowledge to less qualified personnel and communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

Compensation & Benefits Successful candidates will receive a full‑time, non‑exempt, union position with a competitive compensation package: $45.29 per hour, $562.40 per pay period as a Health & Welfare benefit covering medical, dental, vision, and basic life; 401(k) plan with company match of 45% of the first 6% contributed. Additional benefits include a $75.00 monthly employer contribution to Machinist Custom Choice Benefits, twelve paid holidays per year, PTO accrual at 144 hours annual (bi‑weekly rate), up to eighty paid jury duty hours, 3‑5 days paid bereavement leave, and the Employee Assistance Program.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements Primarily a workshop environment, may involve high noise areas or active jet aircraft ramp operations. Requires ability to sit and stand for long periods, perform repetitive motions (keyboarding, 10‑key), frequent bending, reaching, climbing, and lifting up to fifty pounds (occasionally heavier with assistance). Normal physical functions, color perception, and tolerance for moderate heat, cold, rain, wind, and noise are required.
