The Opportunity As
Vice President of Electrical Engineering , you’ll lead the company’s electrical engineering function owning the design, validation, and integration of all power systems across the project lifecycle. You’ll oversee a multidisciplinary team delivering best‑in‑class electrical designs, ensuring performance, safety, and scalability of our large‑scale BESS solutions.
This role is ideal for a technically hands‑on leader who thrives in a high‑growth, mission‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and grow the
electrical engineering organization
responsible for system design, protection, and grid interconnection of utility‑scale BESS projects.
Define
technical strategy , standards, and design architecture for electrical systems including PCS, transformers, switchgear, protection schemes, and controls integration.
Partner cross‑functionally with
product, software, and project delivery
teams to ensure system reliability and compliance with industry and utility standards (IEEE, UL, NEC, NFPA, IEC, etc.).
Oversee
engineering review processes , including electrical one‑lines, control schematics, grounding, and SCADA integration.
Drive
innovation and standardization
in electrical design to optimize cost, safety, and manufacturability.
Serve as the
technical authority
in customer and utility‑facing discussions, ensuring robust compliance with interconnection and grid requirements.
Mentor and develop a high‑performing engineering team capable of delivering complex, large‑scale energy storage solutions.
About You
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
(PE license preferred).
15+ years of experience
in electrical engineering, including at least
5 years in leadership roles
within the energy storage, renewable power, or utility sectors.
Proven experience designing and delivering
utility‑scale BESS or renewable generation systems
(≥50 MW).
Deep understanding of
power conversion systems, grid interconnection, and protection design .
Strong leadership and communication skills and ability to translate technical detail into strategic direction.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple large‑scale projects from concept to commissioning.
