As an Associate Director in ICA Engineering you will play a vital role in all aspects of business development and ICA engineering on transformational programmes for critical UK infrastructure, with opportunities to work on iconic engineering projects at home and abroad.

We specialise in all aspects of instrumentation and control/automation across multiple challenging sectors such as Water, Aviation, Defence, Energy, Cities & Development, and Education. We continue to deliver industry‑leading engineering solutions through the project lifecycle, adding value through client‑side support and construction phases. We currently have opportunities in our Bristol office.

Your Purpose

Own and direct teams who undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, and to high‑quality levels.

Define briefs, scopes of work, and contribute to bid proposals.

Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.

Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.

Set quality assurance standards in design.

Grow, develop, and manage ICA engineering capability within the practice.

What you can bring

Chartered Electrical/Instrumentation Engineer.

Experience owning design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.

Knowledge of ICA design (instrumentation, PLC and SCADA systems), motor control systems, system architecture, fieldbus/communication networks, P&ID's, ATEX installation practice, functional safety, development of control specifications (URS/FDS), schedules and system requirements within process/industrial environments.

Knowledge of current UK design standards, working practices and national guidance.
