Role Description This is a full-time role for a licensed Healthcare Architect located on-site in Dallas, Houston, Bentonville, Charlotte, Charleston, Phoenix, Atlanta, or Nashville. The Healthcare Architect will be responsible for designing and developing architectural solutions, integrating software systems, and managing projects from inception to completion. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with other architects, designing healthcare facilities, overseeing software development, and ensuring successful project delivery while maintaining compliance with healthcare standards.
Licensed Architect responsible for providing technical leadership and documentation coordination, including development of design drawings, technical documentation, and leading project team assignments for projects which may be multiple, large, or complex in scope.
Technical
Directs the production of schematic, design development and construction documents.
Maintains awareness of evolving building technology and systems.
Understands and coordinates engineering systems relevant to projects.
Reviews shop drawings, material samples and CD’s for conformance with design.
Prepares reports and specifications; reviews completed reports, plans, cost estimates and calculations.
Generates construction plans and details, delivering complete, accurate and coordinated project documentation.
Assures execution of and assists with quality control activities for all architectural elements.
Conducts and documents field observations to monitor progress of construction.
Ensures tasks are completed according to the Perkins+Will standards and Project Delivery Manual.
Management
Establishes architectural budget, task schedule and other components of the project work plan in collaboration with project manager.
Directs production of construction documents, drawings and specifications in compliance with project scope, schedule and cost.
Implements meeting objectives, facilitates meetings and provides meeting notes documentation.
Maintains contact with clients, consultants and contractors during all project phases.
May participate in marketing, client and owner presentations.
Directs, organizes and mentors junior staff with responsibility oversight of their assignments.
Qualifications
Architecture and Architectural Design skills
Proficiency in Software Development and Integration
Experience in healthcare facility design is a plus
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Ability to work on-site in Dallas, TX
Education
Professional Degree in Architecture and Licensure
7+ years' experience in architecture is a priority.
Advanced experience in project design, construction documentation production and construction materials
Experienced building codes, specifications, building and engineering systems
Understands project management process and can apply project management software skills
Experience reviewing construction documentation
Experience directing or managing junior staff
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Collaborative and professional work ethic
