TEKsystems
Senior Application Developer (Python)
TEKsystems, St. Petersburg, Florida, United States, 33739
Job Summary
AI Center of Excellence is building an AI team to support organization-wide automation efforts. The team is high-visibility and front line of the agentic and AI solutions being built at Raymond James. Current project involves document storage where 50,000 docs are made searchable in a Redis database and improving the performance of the team. The role seeks people who are serious about delivering and enthusiastic about these projects. Requirements
5+ years of experience in Python software engineering for production systems. Deep expertise with Redis, Kubernetes, and GPU-based computation (CUDA, PyTorch, or TensorFlow). Proven experience designing and deploying vector databases, embeddings, and RAG architecture. About the Position
You are not looking for an ordinary job – and we’re not looking for an ordinary developer. You thrive where others hesitate, under pressure, when the clock is ticking and the stakes are high. You don’t wait for direction; you create momentum. You don’t aim for “good enough”; you aim for excellence – accuracy, speed, and mastery in every line of code. You’re self‑motivated, obsessively curious, and relentlessly driven to build systems that work beautifully at scale. You take full ownership, from concept to deployment, and push yourself – and your team – to deliver beyond expectations. If you’re just looking to clock in and out, this isn’t for you. If you live for the challenge, welcome home. Why Join Us
This is not a maintenance role – it is a mission. You’ll be part of a small, elite team building cutting‑edge AI infrastructure: high‑speed retrieval systems, GPU‑accelerated pipelines, and scalable microservices that power real‑world intelligence. Every day brings a new challenge, a new idea, a new opportunity to push what’s possible. You’ll have end‑to‑end ownership, creative freedom, and the chance to make a measurable impact – not just on code, but on how we build and deliver intelligence at scale. We value commitment, precision, and integrity. We move fast, think big, and reward those who bring energy, focus, and results. This is your chance to be part of something defining – to help build the systems that others will study and emulate. If that excites you, you’re the kind of engineer we want. Skills
Python, Redis, Kubernetes, TensorFlow, PyTorch, RAG, LangChain, Kafka. Core Technical Qualifications
Architect, design, and optimize Python‑based RAG systems for real‑world deployment. Build and maintain vector databases and embedding pipelines using Redis, Faiss, or similar high‑performance stores. Develop and manage GPU‑accelerated pipelines for embedding generation and model vectorization. Design and operate Kubernetes (K8s) environments for scaling distributed microservices and model workloads. Integrate retrieval and generation components into larger AI/LLM ecosystems with high throughput and reliability. Own performance tuning, profiling, and system observability for millisecond‑level responsiveness. Contribute to automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure‑as‑code practices. Collaborate closely with AI engineers, data scientists, and DevOps to deliver production‑grade, fault‑tolerant systems. Preferred Experience
Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or other RAG frameworks. Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry). Contributions to open‑source AI or DevOps projects. Understanding of streaming systems (Kafka, Spark, or Flink). Education
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Computer Science, MIS or related degree. Pay and Benefits
Pay range: $80.00 – $86.20/hr. Eligible benefits include medical, dental & vision; critical illness, accident, and hospital; 401(k) retirement plan; voluntary life & ADD for employees and dependents; short and long‑term disability; health spending account (HSA); transportation benefits; employee assistance program; time off/leave. Job location: Saint Petersburg, FL. Hybrid position. Application Deadline
