We are looking for a Sous Chef to help us open our Adams Morgan cafe! Our lead line cooks/expeditors bring our guests comfort and joy by being guardians of our commitment to uncompromising quality and craftsmanship for all our savory dishes. They validate that all plates, allergies, and modifications meet company operating standards, and ensure the flow of service stays consistent with those standards. Our inside expeditors have a passion for cooking with a keen eye for freshness, quality, and cleanliness, and a deep commitment to learning and teaching others.
Summary of Primary Responsibilities
Maintains the flow of service under company standards regarding ticket times, food quality, plating specs, and guest modifications.
Ensures all orders are to guest satisfaction within company standards.
Ensures all orders are visually appealing.
Completes daily safety and sanitation checks using company tools and systems.
Communicates pertinent information to ensure guest satisfaction.
Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.
Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
Maintains good working relationships with team members and guests.
Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
Upholds safety and sanitation standards.
Other related assignments as necessary.
Position Requirements
The ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced kitchen
Strong communication skills
Must be able to lift, move, and carry 50+ lbs
Must be able to work 8+ hours a day on feet
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
Must be validated on all savory team stations
