ESTIMATOR (Commercial Construction): My client is a growing commercial general contractor headquartered in Evanston, Illinois. We complete projects throughout Chicagoland and have recently expanded beyond state lines. We specialize in interior buildouts, building renovations, and ground‑up construction in the commercial sector. We are a lean, nimble group seeking an Estimator with an entrepreneurial mindset to support our continued growth.
Base Pay Range $110,000.00/yr – $130,000.00/yr
Summary of Position The Estimator will be primarily responsible for estimating duties, with potential for project management support as workload and project life cycle phasing dictates. This role involves client interaction, subcontractor coordination, budget development, value engineering, and project execution support. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of construction experience and the ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Job Responsibilities
Coordinate site visits with prospective clients to obtain field measurements, scope of work, and photographs.
Prepare subcontractor bid lists and send Requests for Proposals to subcontractors.
Review and qualify subcontractor proposals for completeness and accuracy.
Prepare client proposals including cost estimates, detailed scopes of work, and supporting sketches or documentation.
Perform material and labor take‑offs for self‑performed trades such as painting, carpentry, and concrete.
Lead company estimating efforts including drafting invitations to bid, subcontractor outreach and vetting, scope development, budgeting, value engineering, and drafting client proposals.
Communicate effectively and thoroughly with clients.

Qualifications
College degree preferred.
5 years of construction-related experience.
Proficiency in construction software including Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and MS Office.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints for all trades.
