Senior Transportation Structural Engineer
We seek an experienced Senior Transportation Structural Engineer to design and manage transportation structure projects across a wide range of sizes and complexities. This senior‑level position will lead design engineers and drafting personnel, coordinate with sub‑consultants, and work closely with clients and agencies such as the Maryland Department of Transportation.
Responsibilities
Design new and rehabilitate bridge projects.
Prepare contract bid documents and manage construction phase services.
Maintain project scopes, schedules, and budgets while ensuring quality standards.
Lead design engineers and drafting personnel.
Coordinate with sub‑consultants and establish relationships with clients.
Required Qualifications
12–20 years of structural design experience for steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete structures.
Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Maryland.
Experience with AASHTO LRFD bridge design and Maryland Department of Transportation projects.
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (MS). Minimum 6 years leading design teams.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; ability to work on multiple projects in a team‑oriented environment.
Working Conditions
General office environment; predominantly sedentary with occasional standing and walking.
Adequate lighting and temperature; no hazardous conditions associated with noise or dust.
